War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

about me
I am a twentysomething graduate student in social/experimental
psychology at Kent State University.
I also do consulting work in my spare time, mostly relating to
information technology; I build and manage networks, design web
sites, and write custom software.
In the past, I have done research on perceptions of sexual assault,
perceived stigma among sexual assault victims, and the role
Christian fundamentalism may play in perceptions of stigma among
sexual assault victims. My Master's thesis was entitled Sexual
Assault, Perceived Stigma, and Christian Fundamentalism:
Understanding Support Seeking Among Victims.
